Solvent Extraction - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics

Solvent extraction of coal can be used to produce liquids. In the extraction process coal is dissolved in a liquid solvent at elevated temperatures (900°F) and pressures of 275 psi. In one type of solvent extraction process, the dissolved coal is separated from the undissolved coal and ash and the solvent is recovered for reuse.

Processing of Oil Sludge - Flottweg Industrial Centrifuge

We supply complete systems for processing oil sludges from ponds and lagoons. They include an oil extraction station which pumps the oil sludge out of the ponds. The suction pump is mounted on a pontoon that floats on the pond. If required, steam heaters are used in the intake area of the pump in order to liquefy the oil.

Recycling Equipment Manufacturers and Companies

11.19.1 Sand And Gravel Processing

The sand is freed from clay and organic impurities by log washers or rotary scrubbers. After scrubbing, the sand typically is sized by water classification. Wet and dry screening is rarely used to size the sand. After classification, the sand is dewatered using screws, separatory cones, or

Bitumen Extraction Explained | Oil Sands Magazine

Extraction involves the separation of bitumen from sand using water-based gravity separation. Although plant configurations vary across the operators, a Primary Extraction Cell or Vessel is the heart of the circuit. Oil sands slurry produced in the Slurry Preparation Plant (SPP) contains about 50-55% sand and less than 10% bitumen.

quarry | National Geographic Society

A quarry is a place where rocks, sand, or minerals are extracted from the surface of the Earth. A quarry is a type of mine called an open-pit mine, because it is open to the Earth's surface.Another type of mine, a sub-surface mine, consists of underground tunnels or shafts.. The most common purpose of quarries is to extract stone for building materials.

Sand mining - Wikipedia

Sand mining is the extraction of sand, mainly through an open pit (or sand pit) but sometimes mined from beaches and inland dunes or dredged from ocean and river beds. Sand is often used in manufacturing, for example as an abrasive or in concrete. It is also used on icy and snowy roads usually mixed with salt, to lower the melting point temperature, on the road surface.
