Agitator Torque Calculation | Physics Forums

Hi All, I must calculate the torque and for an agitator motor. An anchor type agitator/scraper, removing crust off the edge of a tank. My instinct is the max or startup torque will be = (Moment of Inertia) x (Angular Acceleration) + (Drag force of the submerged impeller)* Max radius + (Frictional forces on the edge of the tank)* Max Radius

Types of Agitators, Agitator's Design and Significance ...

Number of agitators = (Maximum liquid height x specific gravity) / Diameter of tank. Gap between two Agitators = Liquid height / (Number of impellers - 0.5). Basic Design Equations for a Vertical Vessel and Agitator: Vessel Volume = (pi x vessel dia x vessel dia x vessel length) / 4.0

Pumps vs. agitators for tank mixing, classic case of CAPEX ...

However, at the end of the batch, CO 2 evolution almost stops, so the pump or agitator must blend the tank and keep solids in suspension to the extent possible. The tank size is 198" (5.03m) diameter, shallow bottom, with a working volume of 40,800 gallons (154 m 3). Tank contents have an average specific gravity of 1.0. Pump Description

Calculate the Capacity of an Agitator & Conditioner

59.85 time 100 equals 5,985 cu. ft. (total volume 24 hour agitation). Therefore, 5,985 times 2 equals 11,970 cu. ft. (Total volume 48 hours agitation). We find that 15′ x 4.5″ x 16′ and 1″ Bolted Steel Tank has an available capacity of 2,860 cu. ft.; therefore, four of these will handle the job. Or we find that four 15′ x 16′ Welded ...

Mixing Calculators - WMProcess

The mixer selection program allows you to calculate flow rates and power draw of mixing impellers, see what the agitator will provide for tip speed and tank turnovers per minute, and give you some rough estimates on tank mixer sizings.

Tank Baffle - Euromixers

Non-cylindrical mixing tanks are usually either rectangular, or horizontal tanks, and as previously mentioned these tanks usually do not require baffles unless the required level of agitation is high. These tanks are asymmetrical with respect to the mixer shaft and as a result are self-baffling for applications where the applied mixer power ...

HOW SIZING AND INSTALL MUD AGITATOR Drilling Fluid ...

Four baffles are installed around each agitator at 90-spacing along lines connecting the agitator shaft center with the four corners of a pit (Figure 10.11). For a long rectangular pit with two or more agitators, the tank is divided into imaginary square compartments and a baffle is pointed at each corner (either actual or imaginary).

Agitator / Mixer for Vessels

Type of Agitator: Generally it is mounted vertically at the top of the tank. This is the normal practice for mounting an agitator in small and medium size tanks. It is also mounted horizontally from side of a tank, called side entering agitator, for very large diameter storage tanks. Pattern of Circulation: Axial or Radial. When a vessel is ...
