Kapunda Mine Trail and Site - South Australia

The ore was believed to be the purest copper mined at that time. The mine was closed in 1879 after extracting about 14,000 tons of copper. You can park here and explore the mine on foot if you wish. There's a 1.5km walking trail with interpretive signs and access to one of the open cut mines. The trail loops around the entire mine site.
